Student membership is open to anyone studying in any field of design or design related subjects, anywhere in the world. Student design membership is free for students whilst on a CSD Accredited or Recognised course that is part of the CSD Course Endorsement Programme. How do I become a Student Member of CSD?

Student membership is offered globally and is suitable for those studying any aspect of design or design related subjects prior to practising. Student design membership is available for those studying on full-time courses, applicants studying on part-time courses will be considered on an individual basis.

Please note that we do not currently offer Student Membership to those studying purely online courses. If in doubt, please contact the Society before commencing your application.

Once you’re a Student Member you will:

• Be able to use the words ‘a Student Member of the Chartered Society of Designers’ on your CV and Business cards signalling to potential employers that you are a member of the international professional body for designers.
• Signal to potential employers that you have studied on a design course that has been Accredited or Recognised by the professional body for design. Only for those studying on a CEP course.
• Purchase a course completion certificate on graduation.
• Find employment opportunities across the spectrum of design fields from our recruitment partners, CSD members and their consultancies, and the design sector.
• Be able to take full advantage of CSD’s networks with access to a variety of events as well as opportunities to reach out to fellow designers through our social media channels and focus groups.
• Gain access to all our student digital content including magazines, reports, advice columns, book reviews, portfolio galleries and much more.
• Benefit from discounts on selected workshops and events, as well as portfolio gym sessions and other learning opportunities to help you prepare for your career and professional development.
• Opportunities to reach out to potential clients and employers through our social networks and your own Student Level online personal membership profile.
