Creating Greater Choice in Higher Education
In the context of the Government’s commitment to increase student choice in the Higher Education sector, and timed to follow the CMA’s review to assess compliance with their consumer protection guidance published in March 2015, this forum will consider the forthcoming response to the consultation on the Green Paper, Higher education: teaching excellence, social mobility and student choice, and the more recently published White Paper, Success as a knowledge economy, which set out options for new and alternative HE providers, and will look at the future for legislation in this area.Flexibility, Accessibility and High Quality Providers
Following on from last year’s removal of the student number cap, sessions will discuss further options for expanding the Higher Education market, with faster and more flexible application for Degree Awarding Powers, greater accessibility to university title and the consolidation of current regulatory requirements into a single, more streamlined route into the sector, whilst maintaining high quality, value for money provision.Student Protection, Complaints and Contingency Plans
Following a review of compliance with the Competition and Markets Authority’s advice for providers and existing consumer rights laws, discussions will also focus on options to provide student protection against provider exit (both during study and post-graduation) to ensure the validity and value of their qualifications, looking at the necessity for providers to have contingency arrangements. You can find further details and booking information together with the special members discount code by visiting your members area.

How can design research be a creative and active force for rethinking ideas about Design?
How can design research shape our lives in more responsible, meaningful, and open ways?
