We strongly advise you to read the Student e-Member Guidance notes before completing this application for Student e-Membership of the Society.

If you are studying on a full-time course in design or a design related subject please complete this online application and make payment (non-refundable) at the ‘Submission’ stage.

If you are studying on a course which is Accredited or Recognised by the Society within the CSD Course Endorsement Programme you are eligible for FREE Student e-Membership but you still need to complete this online application form to ensure that you receive all of the benefits of your membership. You can find out if your course is Accredited or Recognised by asking your tutor or by searching in Find-a-Course.

As a member of the Society you represent professional design practice to the public and you are therefore required to act in accordance with certain principles set out by the Society. You must agree to these before you will be granted membership.

Fees

The cost of CSD Student e-membership is £40 for the duration of your course and your membership runs until the end of the calendar year in which you graduate and is non-refundable. When you submit your application you will be directed to our secure online WorldPay portal.

Remember, if you are studying on a CSD Accredited or Recognised course your membership is FREE until the end of the calendar year in which you graduate.

Next steps

Once you have submitted your application you will be granted Student e-membership of the Society and will be sent an email confirming your membership and giving you access to the members’ area and your own online portfolio where you can start enjoying the benefits and services of membership of the professional body for designers.
You will receive an acknowledgement by email, together with a temporary password and a link to your user account where you will be able to set your own password. (Please remember that sometimes generic emails can go to your spam/junk folders.)
