CSD Chief Executive appointed as Vice President of GEPN
As part of its ongoing support of the Global Education Policy Network (GEPN), the Society is pleased to announce that our Chief Executive, Frank Peters, has been appointed as Vice President of the initiative.
Speaking of his appointment, Frank said:” I am honoured to have been appointed as Vice President of the Global Education Policy Network (GEPN) an initiative sponsored by Prince Sultan University (Saudi Arabia) and The State University of New York at Buffalo (United States) with global partners including UNESCO Futures of Education and the Chartered Society of Designers.”
The initiative was initially set up as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to conduct research into the ongoing well-being of students as they and their institutions negotiate the long-term effects of the pandemic.
GEPN’s focus is to now bring together leading researchers and experts from across the globe to inform data-driven policies in education. Particularly, GEPN will offer a platform to develop and inform policy guidance for educational institutions, governments, and international organizations with particular emphasis on the UN’s Strategic Development Goals in respect of Good Health and Wellbeing, Quality Education and Gender Equality.
Frank added, “The GEPN aims are ambitious, and the remit is wide but with a current membership of 35 countries, leading Higher Education Institutions, and a panel of over 100 Global Academic Experts there is much that can be achieved.”
